September 10, 2005 - Added a link inside the domain tools Manage page to simplify some software installations. Currently Gallery 1.5 and phpBB 2.0 are available for this. If you have any problems, please let me know.

September 9, 2005 - FreeBSD 5.4. I finally upgraded the OS on the system to something current. Any problems, let me know, it actually went much smoother than I would have hoped.

February 19, 2005 - I've had to start blocking access to this server from Chinese addresses. Currently the block is only for the SMTP port. Normal web access to the system is still open to Chinese addresses. I've had to do this after a couple drive-by spammings to non-existant addresses did quite a number on the server. As the Chinese government has shown no signs of caring about the misadventures of some of their citizens on the 'net, means such as these are the only way to do anything about it.

December 22, 2004 - Merry Christmas. Your phpBB installs (if stock) have been upgraded to 2.0.11. If not stock, your domain has been disabled, and you should have an email from me at your main contact email address. I came home from dinner to find a site's old install had been leveraged by a virus going around to spam the crap out of Brazil. If you need a copy of the current phpBB, you can find it on, or login to the shell, and snag it from /usr/ports/distfiles/phpBB-2.0.11.tar.bz2

August 27, 2004 - Added phpMyAdmin to the Manage domain page.

August 20, 2004 - Enabled PHP's open_basedir restrictions. If you need access to files outside of /tmp, your home directory and PHP library locations (/usr/local/lib/php, /usr/local/smarty), let me know.

Suggestions for additional utilities, please email
